This past Friday, my mom and I went on a day trip to the beach!  It was rainy and windy, very windy, but we didn’t mind because the rain and wind made the trip even more exciting to us!  We stopped at Cannon Beach at an observation point and got pictures of Haystack Rock while having a blast getting pummeled by the wind!  We quickly got soaked and cold out in that wind, so we climbed back into the car after only a few wet minutes out there.  When we drove away we were screaming about how we were “The Zentzis duo!  Touring the world in our little green snot machine, unstoppable to any natural force!”   The “snot machine” is what I called our green car, even though my mom was not fond of the name.

We zoomed off toward the Oregon Coast Aquarium.  We were very late, late to the point where we were trying to just get there in time so we could at least spend maybe ten minutes before they closed so we could see the jellyfish.  When we finally arrived, they were just locking the doors but a staff member took us through to the jellyfish tanks.  We also saw some sea nettles, along with a couple poison dart frogs and other sea life!  Seeing the jellyfish there was a major victory for us because it was the primary reason we came to Newport.  I have some pictures to show for it!

After we left the aquarium, we headed down the bay front to the Rogue Ale pub where I had fish and chips, a root beer float, and a special surprise! The waitress asked us what we were celebrating, and we told her we had been trying to get to the coast to see the jellies for months and that it was a victory that we got in, even if it was just for a minute, so she offered to make an announcement to the entire restaurant for me, which I accepted.  The grand announcement was amazing! I met with Steve, the president of the “Rogue Nation,” some sort of club that I am now part of!  The announcement itself was fun, Steve got everyone else in the restaurant to swear me into the club and cheer me on in my battle.  After the announcement, I got a load of gifts and presents, like a T-shirt and temporary tattoos.  After all the action, I ate the delicious fish and chips and a hot dog with potato chips, but it was so much food, I couldn’t eat the whole thing, so I only ate about half of each.  When we were done, we headed back home, happy, and content.  And lastly, when we got home, I played Club Penguin for a while before bed.  Overall it was a wonderful day.

This weekend, I attended Tucker’s Celebration of Life held at Deer Creek Elementary School.  As you may remember, I said in my last post that he had passed away.  Now his legacy is continuing on.  When we first entered the building, there was a massive table full of toys and gifts for Tucker‘s foundation, called “Tuckers Toybox.” Tucker’s Toybox will provide donated toys and gizmos for kids with cancer, eventually maybe all over the world, and so far it’s been doing wonderfully!  The beginning of the celebration was kind of sad and sweet at the same time.  A man in the front of the big hall was talking about Tucker and said some comforting passages from the Bible, then some people including my mom stood up to share some of their experiences about Tucker.  After all the talking, we watched a slideshow that was prepared showing the life of Tucker from baby to present; that was the real thing that made me cry there.  Once everyone was recovered from the sadder parts of the celebration, we were reminded that Tucker had wanted the celebration to be more of a party where kids could play and people could have fun, so I spent the rest of the time talking, eating sweets, and playing catch with my dad.  Near the end of the celebration, we wrote small notes attached to loads of balloons and then released them into the sky.  After we left, I saw another magnificent cloud formation; it looked like light was pouring down from a crack in the sky.  I pointed it out to my mom and said, “I bet that’s where the balloons are going” because it looked like a shining portal in the clouds.

During all this action, the CCA has generously given me some wonderful animation software.  It's great!  The animation program allows me to create complex animations like never before!  I have been practicing making animations on it and I have come up with a short one commemorating our trip to the aquarium, featuring the jellyfish.  I hope you enjoy this one!
