Tuesday, December 1: Bedstock coincides with Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving back after the mass consumption of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Bedstock artists will use their powerful social media platforms to harness the day’s goodwill, inviting their fans to share their in-bed performances and join them in supporting MyMusicRx, a free-of-charge program that infuses the hospital environment with live music and offers seriously ill kids and teens 24/7 access to digital instruments, music lessons, games, concerts and personal artist greetings at
Holiday Ale Festival
December 2 - 6, Pioneer Courthouse Square: The Holiday Ale Festival gathers up dozens of these winter warmers for a joyous five-day celebration. As a result, this quintessential Portland event has earned a reputation as the premier winter beer tasting venue on the West Coast. Gas heaters create a cozy ambience under the boughs of one of the region's largest decorated Christmas trees. More than 50 potent winter ales are featured at this year's event, and tge raffle, coat check, and root beer station all benefit CCA!
Gingerbread Bridge Competition
Thursday, December 10, Old Market Pub: In December, several Portland Engineers and Architects will gather to fundraise for the Children’s Cancer Association to show off their gingerbread bridge building skills. The requirements for each bridge to span 24 inches will be put to the test by increasing suspended weight until it collapses.  A low ratio of the bridge’s weight to its supported load is what bridge designers will be aiming for.  Additionally, each bridge will be judged on architectural design.  All this and it has to be edible too!
