The 2026 Lavender Girls of West Linn
The Lavender Girls of West Linn celebrated their 19th year of fundraising for Children’s Cancer Association in West Linn on September 19th and 20th.
The Lavender Girls started in 2009 when Jeanette Henning asked her 8-year-old 3rd grade daughters, Emily and Lauren Henning, what they should do with such an abundance of lavender growing in their yard. Jeanette had been a JoyRx Mentor for Children's Cancer Association and she and the girls were familiar with the hardships faced by children and their families when they are fighting childhood cancer. They decided to cut their lavender and sell bundles and sachets- and it blossomed from that first year to an event shared by many families.
Lavender Girls of West Linn is an opportunity for the girls to lead and collaborate with each other while giving back to the community. Over the years, the group has grown to over thirty lavender girls and last year, thanks to YOU, we raised $5,111 for CCA which makes our grand total $44,859 over the past 19 years!
