JoyRx Music Hosts Kids Concert at the Hospital
A local hospital welcomed JoyRx Music on Friday, October 10, for a fun event for families and staff to enjoy the power of music!
Families were welcomed to the outdoor concert area with a cascade of bubbles from our trusty bubble machine. Plus, kids added their own creative flair with the JoyRx Music Doodle Wall, an interactive whiteboard that lets them have fun while jamming to the music.
We also hosted a craft station where kids made their own VIP passes for the concert or colored pictures showing what brings them joy. The amazing Child Life team at the hospital also brought out sidewalk chalk for some pavement art — and, of course, a few rousing games of hopscotch.
“Kids, families, and staff were all jumping in!” JoyRx Music Specialist Chrissy recalled with a laugh. “[JoyRx Music Specialist] Monica danced her socks off the entire time and helped get the party started (and kept it going).”
Looking at these photos, it’s clear to see the kids (and the kids-at-heart) were having a great time:
And of course, the centerpiece of the concert: Scott Collins brought the house down with an engaging, interactive performance that had all the kids wanting to be his new best friend.
“His experience performing and teaching kids across Austin really shone through!” said Chrissy.
Hosting such events is a great joy for all of us at Children’s Cancer Association — ensuring that children always have access to the fun and play that comes with a joyful music experience. Here’s to another successful concert and event created just for kids!
