What better way to end the summer festival season than with Austin City Limits Music Festival? MyMusicRx had two successful weekends down in Austin with the help of our MyMusicRx champs and talented local and national musicians. This festival marks the countdown to our annual #Bedstock online music festival where bands play from bed as a show of solidarity with sick kids stuck in their hospital beds.

Lyla is a charming four-year-old with a smile that’s just as big as her personality. She loves painting, doing puzzles, baking, and reading books about her favorite characters.

Even though he’s only 10 months old, Cyrus – or “Squishy” as his mom and dad like to call him – is already melting hearts with his giant smile and goofy personality. He’s especially fond of crackers, pickles, the color red, and banging blocks together. Cyrus is not so crazy about diaper changes or having to get chemotherapy for his leukemia, which he was diagnosed with soon after he was born.

To help us celebrate the launch of the all-new MyMusicRx.org, Australian singer-songwriter, Vance Joy, has teamed up with MyMusicRx and Kala Brand for the “Vance Joy Ukuleles for Kids” initiative. Children’s hospitals across the country are invited to sign up to receive up to five free-of-charge “Ukuleles for Kids” kits for patients to use during their hospital stays.

The Portland, OR-based Children’s Cancer Association (CCA) is launching a digital extension of its flagship “music medicine” program, MyMusicRx, which delivers the healing power of music to kids and teens facing cancer or other serious illnesses. The digital service, which is available daily on any device at MyMusicRx.org and at more than 30 pediatric hospitals nationwide, empowers hospitalized kids to shift, plan, and grow through music by utilizing a proprietary mood-shift tool to help them feel better, faster.

In 2007, Karen’s life changed dramatically when her granddaughter, Lauren, was diagnosed with T-Cell Leukemia. Karen witnessed firsthand the pain and hardship her granddaughter faced, but there was one thing which helped them all get through it: Music.

The MyMusicRx team frequently jams with Austin and his four siblings when Austin is in the hospital receiving treatments for his cystic fibrosis and diabetes. (His dad Joshua even joins in on trumpet sometimes.)

Ten-year-old Hayden is a poised, polite young lady who is wise beyond her years. She loves art, reading, classical music, her mom’s snickerdoodles, and climbing in the trees around her house.

You might recognize McKenzie as one of our 2016 CCA Heroes, a title which she still embodies today. She’s known as a prankster with the medical team, playing tricks on them and working her sassy charm. She’s also a kind, thoughtful girl, whose positive outlook inspires everyone who meets her.

Summer is festival season and MyMusicRx kicked things off in style at the Sasquatch! Music Festival this Memorial Day Weekend.

MyMusicRx once again invited Austinites to “feel the music and feel better” during the world-renowned SXSW Festival. They responded with a resounding “yes!” turning out for live music events that helped us raise nearly $10,000 to fuel the upcoming launch of MyMusicRx bedside service at St. David’s Children’s Hospital, filling a critical gap in arts and music program services for Central Texas kids and families.

Holly Bruno is passionate about her family and has the uncanny ability to find the good in most of life’s challenges. It’s a quality that’s come in handy when making the decision to end treatment for a rare form of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma and simply live life to the fullest and love every minute of it.

His name is Blake, but you can call this adorable four-year-old Blakey Jo. Blake is an outdoorsy guy who loves digging in the dirt, blowing bubbles, driving his toy truck, and chasing his two big brothers every chance he gets.

In celebration with the Crystal Ballroom’s 104th Birthday Free-For-All, MyMusicRx partners threw an annual event, YOU WHO: Children’s Rock Variety Show.

This #GivingTuesday MyMusicRx proudly presented Bedstock, our annual online music festival where artists perform from bed in solidarity with sick kids spending the holidays stuck in their hospital beds. This year’s festival has raised a record-breaking $88,000, almost DOUBLE the amount raised last year!

There are special people in life that bring happiness with them wherever they go. Two-year-old Sol is one of those people. Named 2017 CCA Hero for the month of August, Sol’s life facing high-risk stage IV Neuroblastoma hasn’t been easy, but she’s handled everything with incredible strength.

We asked you to spend the day in bed for seriously ill children and you didn’t disappoint! Nearly 1.5 million fans tuned in from around the world to watch their favorite artists, like Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas, Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band, Frank Iero, and Shinedown, play from bed. Together on #GivingTuesday we raised $65,000 to bring the healing power of music to hospitalized kids across the country. Thank you! This puts us well on the way to achieving our $100,000 Bedstock goal before year end.
